Eye Examinations at John High Opticians & Audiologists

Having regular eye examinations is extremely important, especially if you have already been diagnosed with vision problems such as myopia, or more severe eye conditions, for example glaucoma. At John High, we offer thorough eye tests for adults and children, as well as OCT 3D scans.

What to Expect

An eye examination usually lasts about 40 minutes, during which our registered optometrist will check your vision and assess whether you need correction, or a new prescription. During your appointment, we’ll test your vision using an eye chart and other equipment that will check your eyes ability to focus, as well as your overall eye health.

Following your exam, our expert opticians will go through the best frame and lens options for you, based on your vision needs, face complexion, lifestyle, and budget. We offer a fantastic collection of frames from top designer brands, so together we’ll surely find the right pair of glasses for you.

Once you have selected your new pair of glasses, we will schedule a collection appointment for you to pick them up. During this appointment, we will ensure you are 100% happy with your new glasses fit and cover other important eye care information.

Eye Tests for Children

Routine eye examinations are recommended for all children to ensure normal visual development. One in five school-age children have some form of undetected vision problems, which more than often affects their learning, school performance, and social life.

Our optometrists are trained to perform comprehensive eye tests for children. For children who are still unable to read, we use specially designed charts that allow them to recognise shapes or pictures. Parents are allowed in the testing room at all times.

Enhanced Sight Test (OCT 3D Scan)

Some John High Opticians & Audiologists practices are equipped with an Optical Coherence Tomography scan (OCT 3D scan). An OCT scan takes your eye examination a step further, allowing our eye specialist to look even deeper into your eye and see the structures within it.
