John High Opticians & Audiologists - Practices safe

Appointment Bookings

We only allow a limited number of people inside the practice at any one time. This is why we strongly recommend to book your eye or hearing appointment in advance.

Your appointment will be an unrushed, bespoke, one-to-one experience with our expert staff. You will be assisted with all your optical and/or hearing needs, from testing to correction.

We kindly ask you to book a collection appointment to pick up your new pair of glasses.

John High Opticians & Audiologists - Appointment Bookings

Our Practices are Open & Safe to Visit

We are pleased to inform our patients that our John High Opticians & Audiologists practices are open and can be visited in complete safety.

Even prior to Covid-19, our patients’ health and safety has always been our utmost priority. With the pandemic outbreak, we have implemented even more enhanced safety measures, to be able to keep offering our healthcare services.

In addition to the usual sanitation of our testing equipment after each exam, and the daily deep cleaning of our practices, we now require all our patients to use hand sanitiser, wear a face mask, maintain social distancing, and attend their appointment unaccompanied (unless being accompanied is strictly necessary). Additionally, our staff has been trained in Covid-19 preventive measures and will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Important: If you present any Covid-19-related symptoms before your appointment, including cough, fever, tiredness, loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell, you must call us and cancel/reschedule your appointment.

Some of our patients fall under the vulnerable and high-risk groups, and it’s our duty to guarantee them a protected environment. If you’re not at high risk, please do your part to prevent the spread of coronavirus to those who are.

John High Opticians & Audiologists - Attendance

Attendance

Please attend your eye or hearing appointment by yourself, unless the presence of a family member is strictly necessary.

Upon arrival, our staff may take your temperature and you will be asked to use hand sanitiser. Please know that, as per NHS regulations, wearing a face mask in healthcare premises is strictly mandatory. You are therefore required to wear your mask when visiting our practices.

Examination

After each eye test and hearing test, our staff is in charge of thoroughly disinfecting the testing room and equipment. Deep cleaning of our practices is carried out on a daily basis.

Our staff will keep the NHS-recommended safety distance. This will be reduced only for clinical reasons.

John High Opticians & Audiologists - Eye Examination

After your appointment

After your eye test, you will discuss frame and lens options with our optician. Please ask which frames you would like to try on, so we can disinfect them before and after. Once you are happy with your new glasses choice, we will book a collection appointment for you to pick them up in all safety.

If you had a hearing assessment and require correction, you will need to book a fitting appointment. To learn more about how our hearing appointment works, please check our dedicated page
